Position Title Air Traffic Control Officer - ApproachNationality Restriction No RestrictionJob DescriptionJob PurposeTo provide safe, expeditious and orderly operational air traffic control (ATC) services in accordance with the privileges granted on the license ensuring compliance with the applicable regulations and the certificate of competency relevant to the job function’s specific area of responsibility .Duties, Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesProvide aerodrome / approach control services, flight information services and alerting services to aircraft operating in a specific area of responsibilitySupport unit management in delivering air traffic control services as per scheduled roster and in compliance with the ATS O perational M anual and regulationsMonitor the serviceability status of equipment essential to the provision of air traffic services and report to the Shift SupervisorReport failures and potential risks that possibly constitute a safety hazard via the appropriate reporting platformAbide by instructions and administrative policies issued to staff pertaining to conduct in the operational area.Report any undesired state and /or incidents as and when they occur to operational management, and to the regulator via the appropriate reporting platformPromote and support the implementation of the ANS Safety Management System within specific area of responsibility to ensure that safety remains primary to the delivery of Air Navigation ServicesMaintain document and procedure control to ensure that the Quality Management System is adhered to within the specific area of responsibilityMaintain a thorough operational knowledge and understanding of the equipment and systems used for the provision of air traffic services in the job function’s specific area of responsibility for compliance.Maintain a professional demeanour in providing air traffic control services to all concerned partiesPerform any additional tasks that may arise from time to time to meet operational and organisational requirementsSafety responsibilities and accountabilities of this position are detailed in the Safety Management Manual of the organization.
