OverviewThe Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing outstanding service to restaurant guests. This includes presenting menu options, offering recommendations when needed, serving food and beverages, and addressing guest inquiries.Key ResponsibilitiesGreet and seat guests as they enter the restaurant.Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and offer recommendations.Take accurate food and drink orders using a POS system (Micros).Communicate with the kitchen about orders and be clear about guests’ special requests.Ensure timely delivery of meals and drinks.Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction and provide additional assistance as needed.Process payments, issue receipts, and handle cash or card transactions.Keep tables and the dining area tidy at all times.Follow all health & safety, food safety and hygiene regulations and hotel procedures.Monitor stock and supplies in the restaurant and communicate shortages (e.g., linen, glassware).Support opening and closing procedures.Take reservations in coordination with the supervisor and hostess/host, if necessary due to special guest requests.Monitor operating supplies and equipment to reduce spoilage and waste.Ensure Food and Beverage orders are of a consistently good standard and delivered promptly.Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by hotel management.Key CompetenciesExceptional service deliveryEfficiency of serviceComplaint resolutionTeamworkFlexibilityReliabilityPositive body languageCan-do attitudeExcellent grooming standardsBackgroundWe hire for attitude and competencies, and train for skills!High school diploma preferred but often not required.Previous hospitality or food service experience.Job code: EX-D029B8E7Job type: Full-timeLocation: Entry (0-2 yrs)About the company: Wyndham Hotels & Resorts EMEA#J-18808-Ljbffr
