Our differences and uniqueness are celebrated and reflected in our wide range of Global Employee Networks.Overview – RoleJensen Hughes is seeking a Site based Fire Protection Engineer (6 months, may be extendible) specialized in the on‑site inspection of Mechanical /Electrical systems for a complex Fire & Life Safety Project in the Riyadh region of Saudi Arabia.This role has a limited tenure of 6 months requiring proficiency in site management covering all aspects of the Project’s Fire & Life safety requirements including, but not limited to, review of contractors documentation, passive/active and ventilation fire protection systems – installation, commissioning, inspections & testing. In this role you will work in line with the client expectations and compliance requirements within the agreed project scope while coordinating with the Project Manager and the team members. Expertise related to FLS review of contractors documentation, systems, calculations and reports would be the key requirements for the role.This role offers an exciting range of opportunities to develop your career within a supportive and diverse team who always strive to do the right thing for our people, clients and communities.ResponsibilitiesReview Contractor’s Fire & Life Safety (FLS) packages based on NFPA codes, SBC codes and GDCD requirementsConduct a comprehensive technical review of Contractor’s Fire & Life Safety (FLS) documentation including FLS/fire protection shop drawings, material submittals, method statements for testing, inspections, commissioning and handover of all passive and active fire protection systemsConduct Building Code Analysis and Gap Analysis as required by Contractor’s submissionsAssess construction site potential fire safety hazards, occupational health and safety hazards for buildings and facilities under construction supervisionConduct frequent site inspections for all passive and active fire systems with data collection and reportingConduct testing, commissioning and hand‑over site inspections for all passive and active fire protection systems with data collection and reportingConduct site survey for occupational health & safety hazardsReview and approve Contractor’s emergency response proceduresReview and approve Contractor’s Fire Risk Assessments and review emergency evacuation plansRequirements and QualificationsBachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical /Electrical Engineering preferred4+ years of Middle East project experience covering design review, construction supervision, fire protection installations inspections, surveys, audits, testing/commissioning and approvalsProven experience in FLS calculations and reportingPreferably certified on all or either NFPA 13, 20, 72, 2001 codes by approved NFPA instructorsProven site experience related to fire protection, suppression, fire alarm systems, ventilationProven experience in liaising with local authority, contractors, and clients to obtain all required certificates for occupancyExcellent verbal and written communication skills and able to undertake work independentlyExcellent communication and interpersonal skills along with strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skillsWhy you should join Jensen HughesYou will work with market‑leading clients and have the backing of a leading international firmYou’ll have support from the leadership team and given flexibility to work where and when you wantCareer advancement with an established framework is in place clearly defining expectations, outlining opportunities for promotionJensen Hughes is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
