OverviewHolds a valid Qatari Driving License for Excavator/Crane and is qualified/ competent to operate Caterpillar brand Side BoomPrimary functionsOperate the Side boom in a safe and appropriate mannerOperate Side boom effectively and safely, utilizing machine specific controls and machine attachments to complete all necessary tasks related to pipeline construction. This includes operating on adverse terrain, and/or near other equipment and power lines.Interpret verbal and non-verbal communication (including hand signals) from other operators and ground personnel, and act accordingly.Perform mechanical inspections including controls and operations, completing logbooks, performs adjustments, ensures good housekeeping, and performs machine lubricationPerform effective operation of equipment by recognizing unusual machine movements and soundsRecognize existing and potential hazards and knows how to identify these through conducting a field level pre-job hazard analysis, checking the machine for hazards and assessing any tasks before startExperienced in operating Side Boom Pipe Layers ranging from 40 to 90 tonsUnderstand, interpret and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area.Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.Qualifications/ExperienceSpeak, read and write in EnglishMinimum 5 years of field experience operating Side Boom Pipe Layer Equipment (Experience certificate or previous third-party certificate from prior employer required)At least 2 years of field experience with operating in GCCPrevious experience working on pipe line jobsMust have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervisionSpecific skills and knowledgeKnowledge of Rigging signsOperate in crowded, fast-paced working environments, and exercises extreme caution with awareness of potential situational hazards to ensure site safety.Personal competenciesAge between 30-45 years, active, good health.Key Performance IndicatorsCompletion of the work on time and in full without traffic violations.Observance of preventive maintenance schedule
