Shipment Control Officer

<div><h3>Overall Role Purpose</h3><ul><li>Shipment Control Officer (SCO) will be responsible to implement and monitor policy, proceduresand Security Practices to ensure compliance with GACA Procedures.</li><li>Responsible for the timely investigation into shipment losses and incidents relating to DHL assets, personnel and shipments.</li><li>Administration of Security Incidents database and generating reports.</li></ul><h3>Your Tasks</h3><ul><li>Upholding effective security policies and procedures to ensure that DHL employees, assets and customers’ shipments are protected.</li><li>Ensures effective implementation of Aviation Security processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.</li><li>Conduct investigations into security incidents such as loss/theft of shipments, company assets, and criminal acts against property or personnel. Prepare reports with cost‑effective recommendations and ensure implementation after consultation with National Security Manager (NSM).</li><li>Maintains the Security Incidents Database for all security incidents, in his area, and generates reports to monitor growing trends, suggest corrective actions and ensure implementation after consultation with the PSM.</li><li>Maintains facilities in his area of responsibility and assists the Security Manager in internal TAPA Audits to identify gaps and implement corrective actions.</li><li>Maintains security equipment in good working condition and liaises with vendors to ensure preventive maintenance of CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, X‑ray machines and fire detection/prevention systems.</li><li>Assists in effective implementation of DS process (destroy shipment process) as per the GSOP guidelines and maintains records with pictures.</li><li>Carries out quarterly access reviews to ensure that access records are up to date. Records are deleted for staff who have left the company and access is granted on a need‑to‑enter basis. Frequent backups of the database are obtained to help in case of unexpected system crashes.</li><li>Organises on‑route courier checks to ensure that staff comply with DHL Vehicle Security Policy.</li><li>Assists the PSM in carrying out route surveys for the transportation of high‑value shipments for customers receiving or sending high‑value desirable goods.</li><li>Carries out fire evacuation drills twice a year. Observations are recorded and corrective actions implemented.</li><li>Produces monthly reports of security‑related incidents and subsequent investigations to the Security Manager.</li><li>Maintains close liaison with local authorities to obtain assistance when needed and to exchange information in accordance with company policy.</li><li>Monitors and manages shipment exceptions (no‑scan, misroute, shortage/overage, damage, holds, service risk).</li><li>Travels and investigates shipments using CCTV and coordinates with Ops to locate and recover (re‑route, re‑scan, rebuild, expedite).</li><li>Investigates shipment issues: collects evidence (scans, weights, photos, handover records) and identifies the root cause.</li><li>Applies HOLD and secures shipments when required.</li><li>Escalates to Ops/CS/Security/DG/IT/Customs based on the case type and risk level.</li><li>Maintains case documentation and closes with outcome and corrective action.</li></ul><h3>Your Profile</h3><ul><li>Preferably a college diploma or degree.</li><li>Trained in fire safety.</li><li>Diploma in health and safety (First aid).</li><li>Experience in investigations.</li><li>Courier industry background.</li><li>Trained on X‑raying from GACA (preferably).</li></ul><h3>Our Offer</h3><ul><li>Strong career support in an international environment.</li><li>Great culture and colleagues.</li><li>Multifarious benefit program.</li></ul><p>Do you see a personal challenge in these versatile and responsible tasks?
