Job Description Your role:
- Team Leadership: Mentors and manages software engineers and engineering managers, conducting performance reviews and driving career development.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborates with product, design, and quality assurance teams to define roadmaps, technical strategies, and project goals.
- Technical Oversight: Ensures adherence to coding standards, software architecture principles, and high-quality deliverables.
- Operational Excellence: Manages project timelines, resource allocation, and budgets (training, tools).
- Process Improvement: Implements best practices, such as Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps, to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Stakeholder Communication: Reports progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership.
To succeed, you will need:
Experience Requirements:
- Overall 15+ years of software development experience with 5+ years managing through managers.
- 5+ years of experience in complex software product development.
- Deep expertise in modern software practices like Agile/Scrum, CI/CD pipelines, cloud architectures (Azure), and distributed systems.
- Strong Technical expertise in .NET/Python/Microservices.
- Experience of managing complex initiatives within budget/time.
- Cross-functional leadership and conflict resolution.
- Database expertise (MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB).

- Prioritization and Focus: Making tough decisions on which projects to pursue and which to deprioritize, using data-driven insights to manage resources effectively.
- Risk Management: Proactively identifying potential technical or project-related risks and mitigating them before they escalate.
- Mediation Skills: Addressing disagreements between team members or with other departments swiftly and fairly, often using a 'disagree and commit' approach.
- Adaptability to Change: Pivoting strategies quickly in response to shifting business priorities, new technologies, or organizational changes.
- Handling Tough Conversations: Managing performance issues, conducting layoffs, or letting employees go with professionalism and empathy.

- Passion for Technology: Maintaining a deep interest in software development to support and guide engineering teams, even if not coding daily.
