Senior Legal Counsel, Corporate Investments, Qatar

Taylor Root is exclusively partnering with an international client to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel or Legal Counsel (Corporate/M&A) to join their expanding legal function in Doha. Based just north of Doha in the modern city of Lusail, this is a high impact role within a global private equity and investment management environment, supporting a diverse portfolio and working closely with the General Counsel.The role will best suit an experienced lawyer, between 4-8 PQE from either a private practice or in-house environment. So why this role in particular? Interesting growth plans - the client is expanding and this is the chance to join them at an important point.Broad spread of international work - whilst their remit is corporate M&A and company portfolio management, the day job will be far wider.Clean slate - be part of a brand new team build. What you'll be doing: Advising on transactions and investments across private equity, M&A, and venture capital.Handling general commercial issues on a day to day basis across portfolio companies.Have international oversight across investments and business partners worldwide. Who you'll likely need to be in order to succeed: 4+ PQE from a common or civil law jurisdiction (EU lawyers, particularly Dutch are very much encouraged).Broad spread of corporate and commercial work, ideally across investment platforms.Previous Middle East experience is not needed and overseas applications are welcome.
