Role SummaryThe role will be held by an experienced/developing academic who combines research with learning and teaching, and knowledge transfer and a broader contribution to their programme.Job PurposeTo conduct and contribute to research, learning and teaching, and knowledge transfer to the benefit of students, the School, the University and the wider community.Learning and TeachingDeliver high quality teaching to studentsDesign, develop and review teaching activities and materialsIdentify best and innovative practices in learning and teaching and build these into personal teaching practiceMaintain an understanding of how emerging research in the subject discipline can shape and improve the curriculum, and inform personal teaching practiceContribute to course/programme review and designGive effective advice, guidance and feedback to students, to support their academic progressEnhance student experience and outcomesResearch and Knowledge TransferContribute to applications for research and knowledge transfer fundingIndividually or with others, conduct and disseminate the outputs of high-quality research, normally of international standardBe committed to ensuring that research has impact beyond academiaContinually update own knowledge in the field of specialismSupervise master’s studentsAcademic Leadership and ManagementContribute to the administration of the academic program, by supporting student recruitment, induction etc.Advice and coach colleaguesDesign, develop and participate in strategic priorities of the Department, such as school outreach and industry collaborationsUndertake other activities, as requiredRequirementsEssential Requirements:Excellent academic qualifications in lawAbility to teach one or several of the following subjects:Commercial LawInternational LawInternational OrganisationsInternational Business LawIntellectual Property LawInternational Commercial LawEvidence of competence in the fields mentioned above and publication record commensurate with excellent research performance for stage of careerCommitment to attracting research and or knowledge transfer fundingHigh level of written, oral and interpersonal skillsDesirable Requirements:PhD in Law and/or legal professional qualification and/or professional teaching qualificationAbility to teach more than one of the existing core LLB subjectsExperience of legal education and/or legal practiceThree years full time teaching experience (subject to review following guidelines from ITLHE)Not AcceptedGeneral Adult Education cert. not accepted at present as it does not consider theories of learning, knowledge, needs, skills, and principles of learning.#J-18808-Ljbffr
