Senior Facilities Civil Engineer - Freelancer Contract Position at Al Jazeera Media Network Al Jazeera Media Network is seeking a Senior Facilities Civil Engineer with specializations in structural, civil, environmental, and land surveying, waterproofing, and construction of buildings, water supply networks, drainage, earthworks, and foundations. Key Responsibilities Review and approve civil and structural designs submitted by consultants, third parties, and contractor proposals for existing and new works. Manage project construction to ensure safety and functionality of structures and civil works. Inspect and repair existing structures, perform retrofits, waterproofing, and strengthening. Organize and direct maintenance for repair of existing structures/civil works and waterproofing. Study materials and discuss technological aspects of each material. Maintain ongoing communication and consultancy with other specialists. Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with design, safety, and sanitation standards. Prepare scope of work for civil and structural projects. Check, review, and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and as-built drawings. Conduct site visits and generate civil and structural punch lists until all snags are closed. Evaluate tender candidates during the tender stage. Coordinate with other disciplines. Provide civil, structural, and waterproofing solutions for required works, whether existing or new. Education At least a degree in Civil or Architecture Engineering. Experience At least 10 years of related site work experience.
