We have one of the largest dedicated teams with decades of cumulative experience in sustainable design, fire and life safety, cost management, façade engineering, commissioning, building performance, waste management, environmental consultancy, carbon management and acoustics.Job PurposeSenior Commissioning Engineer is a senior role within the commissioning project team, the person undertaking this role is a technical authority in chosen discipline and a leader within the team. They are self‑motivated, support the project manager with delivery of project scope and provide training and coaching to the team.Qualification / ExperienceMEP / Building Services Engineering DegreeBSc Mechanical EngineeringBSc Electrical EngineeringBSc Building Services EngineeringMEP / Building Services Engineering College DiplomaHNC, HND or equivalentMEP / Building Services Engineering College CertificateONC, OND or equivalentMEP Trade Time Served + City & Guilds CertificateMinimum 8 years of job‑related experience + Engineering DegreeMinimum 10 years of job‑related experience + College DiplomaMinimum 12 years of job‑related experience + College or Trade CertificateChartered Engineer, desirable but not essentialIncorporated Engineer, desirable but not essentialCSA Grade 5 qualified, desirable but not essentialCertified Commissioning Authority with BCA, ACG or NEBB, desirable but not essentialGeneral ExpectancyExtensive experience and high‑level competencies in specialised areas.Contributes valuable insights to projects.ResponsibilitiesIndependently conduct site inspections in selected discipline.Review design information, tolerances and agreed methods of working.Assess whether test procedures and recorded results demonstrate compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice.Assist with reviewing project documentation for compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice.Report issues found to senior team members in a clear, accurate and concise manner.Liaise with contractors and commissioning team in a professional manner.Carry out site observations with respect to quality of installation.Produce documentation to a high standard, including Site Observation Reports.Monitor installation, submittals and use of engineering tools adhering to project and commissioning guideline.Participate in meetings and workshops when required.Technical authority and leader within the project team and division.Support, mentor, and train colleagues.Track completion of tasks, prepare lookaheads and trackers for project milestones.Keep daily diary of events and activities under your control, including systems inspected, documents reviewed, and any decision made by authorities on site.Assist with commission ability design reviews when requested and produce high‑quality detail‑oriented documentation with recommendations and considerations.CompetenciesLeadership / Management skillsLeadership involves effective delegation, strategic planning, and fostering collaboration across teams.
