Job Description
Role: Secretary (Legal) - Maternity CoverRequirements5+ years of secretarial experience with a professional services companyFamiliarity with legal documents and terminologyExcellent knowledge of MS Office programs (Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook)Experience with legal technology (document management systems, transcription software, dictaphone, etc)Superior written and oral communication skills in EnglishAbility to work with a team of lawyers and other colleaguesOutstanding time-management and accurate typing skillsCapability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlinesStrong interpersonal skills with an ability to build relationships with senior executivesGood problem-solving and decision-making skillsExceptional organizational skillsDemonstrate a courteous and professional demeanorDuties & ResponsibilitiesProvide administrative support to one or more lawyersProduce information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and where needed, graphicsAssist associates with processing, amending, and proofreading legal documents and in some cases, courtroom proceduresParticipate in the billing process by preparing invoices, reimbursable expenses and tracking client payments and billing queries with financeMaintains lawyer’s calendars by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, meetings, and making travel arrangementsFile, organize, scan, copy and fax legal documents promptlyScreen, direct, and prioritize incoming calls and emails to lawyersAdhere to the Firm’s policies and proceduresRelationshipsBusiness Support TeamsSecretariesDiversity, Equity & InclusionEssential to our success as a regional law firm is our ability to attract and retain the best talent from a diverse range of backgrounds.
