Project Planning Specialist/Planning Engineer

BAE Systems Strategic Aerospace Services WLL | Full timeWe are seeking a highly organized and analytical Project Planning Specialist/Planning Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting on project progress to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.Key Accountabilities:Develop detailed project schedules, timelines, and work programs using industry‑standard planning tools.Prepare baseline schedules, resource plans, and cost‑loaded program.Monitor project progress and update schedules regularly to reflect actual performance.Identify critical path activities and potential project risks and propose mitigation measures.Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to gather progress information.Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for management review.Analyze project performance, including schedule variances and productivity trends.Support project budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities.Track deliverables, milestones, and contractual obligations to ensure compliance.Participate in project meetings and provide planning‑related insights and recommendations.Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of project planning records.Assist in the preparation of extension of time (EOT) claims and supporting documentation when required.Implement best practices in project controls and planning processes.Collaborate with procurement and construction teams to align schedules with project requirements.RequirementsEducation & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related fieldMinimum of 4–6 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably in, engineering, or infrastructure projectsExperience working on large‑scale projects in Qatar or the GCC region is highly preferredTechnical Skills:Proficiency in planning and scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and/or MS ProjectStrong knowledge of project management methodologies and project controlsSolid understanding of construction sequences, resource planning, and cost managementAbility to interpret technical drawings, BOQs, and contract documentsAdvanced skills in Microsoft Excel and reporting toolsStrong analytical and problem‑solving abilitiesExcellent organizational and time‑management skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesStrong communication and coordination skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyLanguage & Other Requirements:Fluency in English is requiredCandidates currently residing in Qatar are preferredCandidates from abroad will also be considered.Ability to join within short notice is an advantage#J-18808-Ljbffr
