OverviewThe Khalil Research Group at NYU Abu Dhabi employs a crossdisciplinary approach that integrates chemistry reaction engineering and manufacturing principles to develop advanced materials for environmental remediation. Our research focuses on controlling material structures from the nanoscale to the microscale enabling the creation of innovative technologies that leverage these complex architectures for sustainable water treatment solutions.ResponsibilitiesThe Postdoctoral Associate will lead a project focused on developing covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for water treatment applications.The role involves the design synthesis and characterization of materials using advanced techniques such as powder X-ray diffraction, electron diffraction, spectroscopy, electron microscopy and porosity analysis.The postdoc will also evaluate the performance of these materials in water applications.Additional responsibilities include preparing manuscripts, reviewing articles, drafting grant proposals and mentoring junior researchers.The Postdoctoral Associate will have the opportunity to work on individualized projects under the guidance of Dr. Safiya Khalil ensuring a wellrounded research experience throughout the tenure.QualificationsRequired Education Certifications Licensing or TrainingPhD in Chemical Engineering/Material Science/Chemistry or a related field.Preferred Education Certifications Licensing or TrainingResearch experience related to porous materials.Required Work and Related ExperienceExperimental research experience in the area of porous frameworks materials including synthesis and characterization of porous MOF/COFs.Preferred Work and Related ExperienceThorough working experience and understanding of various characterization techniques such as PXRD electron diffraction gas adsorption for porosity analysis supercritical CO2activation.Experience in application of COFs for water treatmemt.Required Experience:IC#J-18808-Ljbffr
