Job Description

Job OverviewThe Manager Construction (Fab) role requires an in-depth understanding of Construction concepts, theories, and principles and basic knowledge of other related disciplines. The Manager Construction (Fab) must be able to apply an understanding of the industry to improve effectiveness, provide guidance, and influence processes and policies for the Construction discipline as well as identify and resolve technical, operational, and organizational problems that impact effectiveness. The Manager Construction (Fab) impacts the level of service and the Construction team’s ability to meet quality and timeliness objectives. Policies, resource requirements, budgets, and the business plan should guide decisions made by the Manager Construction (Fab).ResponsibilitiesCoordinate detailed engineering and construction activities in both Greenfield & Brownfield Project environments, in line with PMT expectations on HSE, Quality, Technical requirements, and Execution performanceAssist the Project ManagerEnsure project schedule is followed and report progressCoordinate all construction and sub-contractor work activitiesEnsure company policies with regard to safety are enforcedEnsure all construction work is performed to company and regulatory body standardsEnsure that all inter-craft interface issues are resolved in a timely manner and in accordance with specificationsLiaise with the regulatory body for work inspectionsControl and keep records of Time & Material receipts and time sheetsReport any project concerns to the Project ManagerAudit all company and sub-contractor QA/QC proceduresDocument and issue periodic reports on work progress to the project managerCoordinate all commissioning test workMonitor and document communications with crafts/sub-contractors on technical issuesCompile documentation related to QA/QC mattersAssist the Project Manager with change management issuesManage the performance of employees through goal setting, ongoing assessment, and coachingOwn and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and proceduresEnsure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and proceduresEnsure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teamsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent related education/experienceMinimum of 10 years construction experience; 3 years in CM role; minimum one major projectHigh level of knowledge and experience with the development and implementation of construction detailed work planning processes and proceduresKnowledge of lump sum business modelExperience with modular fabricationExcellent verbal and written communicationAbility/willingness to travel both domestically and internationallyAbout UsOur ingenuity fuels daily life.
