OverviewContract Librarian in Zayed City, UAE. We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Contract Librarian to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals without prior experience to gain valuable work experience in a professional setting. Visa sponsorship will be provided for candidates of all nationalities.As a Contract Librarian, you will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of our library, including cataloging and organizing materials, providing reference services to patrons, and maintaining the library's collection. You will also have the opportunity to work on various projects and initiatives to enhance the library's resources and services.To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication skills in English and possess a passion for helping others access information. While prior experience is not required, candidates with a degree in Library Science or related fields will be preferred.ResponsibilitiesAssist with organizing and cataloging materials according to the library's standardsProvide reference services to patrons by helping them locate resources and answer their inquiriesMaintain accurate records of library transactions and assist with circulation dutiesMonitor and maintain the library's physical space, including shelving books and maintaining a clean environmentCollaborate with other librarians on projects such as creating displays or developing new programs for patronsStay up-to-date with current trends in library science and implement new ideas to improve servicesWork closely with other team members to ensure efficient operations of the libraryQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferredFluent in English; additional languages are a plusExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalStrong organizational skills with attention to detailAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamProficient computer skills, including knowledge of library software systemsNotesWe are looking for an individual who is eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
