JOB PURPOSEThe IT Infrastructure Specialist plays a key role in deploying, managing and supporting core infrastructure services across data centers and cloud-integrated environments. The role involves proactive system monitoring, patch management, upgrade planning, asset lifecycle oversight and alignment with security and compliance mandates.QUALIFICATIONEngineering Degree (Computers / Electronics)CERTIFICATIONSITIL FoundationMicrosoft CertifiedVMware VCP or equivalent virtualization credentialsCompTIA ServerAI-related training or certification will be considered an added advantage.EXPERIENCEMinimum 8-10 years of hands‑on experience in an IT infrastructure management role.RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDES ALL TASKS)Infrastructure Support & MaintenanceAdminister servers and storage systems across production and UAT environments.Conduct regular health checks, incident resolution and root‑cause analysis.Manage patching cycles, firmware upgrades and hardware refreshes (including EOL/EOS tracking).Liaise effectively with Server, Database, Application and Network teams to identify and resolve issues.Virtualization & Cloud IntegrationOperate under guidance on VMware VCF, NSX and Hyper‑V environments.Contribute to cloud migration readiness, monitoring and backup‑strategy development.Troubleshoot hybrid workloads and resolve resource‑scaling challenges.Security & Compliance AlignmentEnforce endpoint hardening and baseline configuration standards.Assist in security patch deployment and vulnerability remediation planning.Support ISO/SOC and internal audit preparedness through proper documentation.Asset & Inventory ManagementMaintain and update CMDB records; track hardware and software assets.Collaborate with procurement teams to align asset lifecycle and replacement schedules.Oversee warranty tracking, license management, secure disposal and inventory transparency.Tools & AutomationLeverage platforms such as vROPs, SolarWinds and ManageEngine for infrastructure monitoring.Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible, PowerShell or Python.Create and update SOPs, knowledge‑transfer decks and performance dashboards.Cross‑Team CollaborationCoordinate with service desk, network, security and application teams.Support onboarding and infrastructure readiness; manage escalations.Contribute to capacity planning and infrastructure enhancement initiatives.Leadership & CommunicationMentor L1/L2 staff; develop up‑skilling roadmaps and rotation plans.Lead infrastructure projects with cross‑functional teams aligned to business outcomes.Deliver executive reports, dashboards and audit committee updates.Disaster Recovery & High AvailabilityManage disaster‑recovery site operations and recovery protocols.Ensure high availability of storage systems and data‑center devices.Design IT service‑continuity plans, policies and test scenarios aligned with business resilience.TECHNICAL SKILLS / COMPETENCIESMANDATORYPlatform ExposureWindows/Linux Server OS, Active Directory, Group Policy. Must have expert‑level troubleshooting skills.VirtualizationHands‑on experience designing and managing virtualization environments such as VMware, Proxmox, Hyper‑V.Backup & StorageStrong knowledge and experience of backup tools (Veeam, Veritas) and storage handling.Monitoring ToolsSolarWinds, ManageEngine or similar infrastructure monitoring tools.Patch ManagementStrong knowledge and experience in monthly security patch management; responsible for preparing the periodic patch cycle.Automation SkillsGood exposure to Ansible, PowerShell or scripting.Disaster RecoveryGood experience managing disaster‑recovery operations and procedures; responsible for preparing the runbook for BCP/DR activities.Datacenter ManagementResponsible for coordinating with datacenter services: physical infrastructure oversight, access management, capacity planning, asset tracking & documentation.DocumentationGood practice in infrastructure documentation and SOP writing.Compliance AwarenessExposure to ISO/SOC controls, patching standards and compliance & audit support.OPTIONALExperience with AI‑based implementation or support will be considered an added advantage.SOFT SKILLSMANDATORYStrong analytical and problem‑solving ability.Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.Clear and accurate documentation skills.Proven experience in team leadership and collaboration; ability to work effectively across departments and foster a cooperative work environment.High attention to detail and proactive security mindset.Self‑confidence, motivation and ability to work independently and in a team.Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at the operational level.Strong customer service orientation.#J-18808-Ljbffr
