Job Description

The Civil Engineer Inspector is responsible for planning, executing, documenting, and reporting construction site inspections to ensure full compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. The role involves close coordination with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to maintain construction quality and project integrity.Key Responsibilities1. Pre-Inspection Planning & PreparationMonitor daily schedules and email communications for newly assigned inspection activitiesConduct a thorough review of all project documentation, including approved drawings, bar bending schedules, method statements, and inspection stagesPrepare Inspection Notification Reports (INR) with complete client, project, and inspection scope details prior to site visitsCoordinate with clients at least 24 hours in advance to confirm inspection timing and request required documentationVerify the availability and validity of approved construction drawings and ensure alignment with project specifications2. On-Site Inspection ActivitiesPerform comprehensive physical site inspections in accordance with approved inspection procedures, quality standards, and safety regulationsConduct detailed visual inspections of construction activities and collect clear photographic evidence for all required inspection pointsVerify compliance of executed works against approved drawings, technical specifications, and applicable codesIdentify, document, and classify construction deviations such as:Missing or incorrect reinforcementWorkmanship and quality defectsCommunicate identified deviations to clients and contractors during inspections and provide guidance on corrective actionsEnsure all photographic records are accurately labelled, catalogued, and stored in designated project folders3. Documentation & ReportingPrepare and issue inspection documentation based on site conditions:INR reports for compliant works or minor deviations resolved during inspectionSchedule re-inspections for multiple minor non-conformities requiring correctionIssue RD5 reports for major deviations requiring formal documentation and escalationSubmit detailed daily inspection reports via AppSheet or approved digital platformsProvide daily inspection status summaries to the Team Leader via email, including outcomes, deviations, and revisit requirementsMaintain accurate, traceable, and auditable inspection records for all assigned projects4. Client & Stakeholder CommunicationMaintain professional, clear, and effective communication with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teamsProvide technical explanations regarding inspection findings, compliance requirements, and corrective measuresCoordinate revisit inspections and verify the closure of corrective actions closurePromptly escalatet major deviations to the Team Leader for further action and decision-makingQualifications & Minimum RequirementsEducationBachelor’s Degree in Civil EngineeringExperienceMinimum 3 years of experience in civil construction inspection or site supervisionProfessional RegistrationValid registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE)Technical Knowledge - Strong understanding of:Civil construction methods and materialsQuality control and quality assurance processesStructural and concrete works inspectionApproved drawings, specifications, and standardsConstruction inspection methodologies and best practicesQuality control and quality assurance systemsConstruction site health, safety, and environmental protocolsTechnical reporting and professional documentation standardsContinuous professional development in construction technologies, regulations, and codesAuthorization to SignInspection Notification Reports (INR)Site visit and inspection documentationPhotographic evidence logsDaily inspection and activity reportsPhysical Requirements (Mandatory for Technical Staff)Ability to work in active construction environments, including adverse weather conditionsCapability to safely navigate construction sites (climbing, walking on uneven surfaces, and working at heights)Strong visual acuity for detailed inspection and quality assessmentPhysical endurance for extended field inspectionsAbility to carry inspection tools and equipment (up to 20 kg)Soft SkillsHigh attention to detail and strong analytical skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesProfessional client-service mindsetEffective problem-solving and decision-making skillsStrong time management and organizational capabilitiesAdaptability to changing site conditions and schedulesIntegrity, accountability, and commitment to quality standardsLanguage SkillsEnglish: Advanced proficiency (written and verbal)Arabic: Proficiency preferred for enhanced communicationStrong professional and business communication skills in both languagesOther RequirementsValid driving license and reliable transportationProficiency in digital inspection, documentation, and reporting toolsWillingness to
