Successful applicants will be subject to various background checks including receipt of high-quality references, proof of relevant qualifications, identification and police checks, including overseas checks.Job PurposeThe Inclusion Teacher will play a key role in ensuring that all children in Early Years and Key Stage 1 are fully supported to access learning in a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging environment.The role involves planning and delivering targeted support for pupils with additional needs, adapting provision to meet individual learning profiles, and working collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals.We are seeking a kind, patient, and highly collaborative practitioner who has a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 curriculum, and is committed and passionate about inclusive education and making a positive difference to every child.Key RelationshipsHead of Inclusion / SENCoSchool Principal & Senior Leadership TeamClass Teachers & Teaching AssistantsCurriculum CoordinatorsParents and external specialists (e.g. speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists)Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & LearningPlan and deliver targeted, high-quality support for pupils with additional needs in Early Years and KS1Adapt and differentiate the EYFS and KS1 curriculum to meet a range of learning needsDevelop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) with clear, measurable targetsSupport pupils to access learning both within and outside the classroomUse a range of inclusive strategies to support communication, engagement, and independenceAssessment & ProgressConduct initial and ongoing assessments to identify pupils’ needsMonitor, track, and evaluate pupil progress against targetsWrite clear and informative reports, identifying next stepsEnsure provision is responsive and adjusted based on pupil outcomesPastoral & Social DevelopmentSupport pupils’ emotional regulation, behaviour, and social developmentFoster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environmentBuild strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support wellbeing and engagementCollaboration & TeamworkWork closely with class teachers to identify needs and plan appropriate supportModel strategies and share best practice with teachers and teaching assistantsLiaise regularly with parents to support consistency between home and schoolCollaborate with external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to support Contribute positively to the wider school team and ethosInclusion & ProvisionSupport pupils with a range of needs, including:Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD)Speech, language, and communication needsSocial, emotional, and behavioural needs (including ADHD)Sensory or physical needsEnsure all pupils have equal access to learning opportunitiesProfessional ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate and confidential student recordsEngage in ongoing professional developmentAttend and contribute to meetings and trainingSupport health and safety proceduresUndertake any additional duties as reasonably requiredPerson SpecificationQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant fieldRecognised teaching qualificationExperienceMinimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar roleExperience supporting children with additional needs in Early Years and/or KS1Experience working with IEPs and targeted interventionsSkills & AttributesA kind, patient, and nurturing approach to working with young childrenA strong team player who values collaboration and shared practiceA secure understanding of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum and how to adapt it for learners with additional needsA committed and passionate approach to inclusion and pupil progressExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and familiesStrong organisational and record-keeping skillsFlexibility and responsiveness to changing needsKnowledgeUnderstanding of a range of special educational needsKnowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and early intervention approachesFamiliarity with assessment and progress monitoringAdditional RequirementsCommitment to safeguarding and confidentialityWillingness to provide personal care where requiredAbility to support pupils with a range of behavioural and emotional needsWhat We’re Looking ForHas a strong understanding of how young children learnIs genuinely passionate about inclusion and early interventionBrings warmth, positivity, and empathy to their roleThrives in a collaborative environmentIs proactive, reflective, and solution-focused#J-18808-Ljbffr
