Engineer - Network Security

OverviewThe Network Security Engineer is responsible for protecting an organization's network infrastructure from cyber threats. This includes designing, implementing, and managing security measures such as firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and security monitoring tools. The engineer ensures the integrity and confidentiality of data by proactively monitoring network traffic, responding to security incidents, conducting vulnerability assessments, and performing risk management.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the IT Infrastructure and Operations teams to design secure network topologies that align with security best practices, ensuring scalability and security across malomatia’s digital environment.Monitor network traffic, security systems, and logs for anomalies or suspicious activities using advanced tools like SIEM.Respond to security incidents, investigate breaches, and provide timely resolutions to minimize disruption to services. Implement incident response protocols and work with relevant stakeholders to handle security threats.Manage and maintain VPN services, ensuring secure remote access for employees and third-party partners.Coordinate with the IT Operations team to ensure timely patching of vulnerabilities in network systems and devices, ensuring that security updates are applied promptly.Design and implement security measures to protect cloud-based networks, ensuring secure communication between cloud and on-premise systems.Develop, maintain, and enforce network security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect malomatia’s assets and ensure operational consistency.Provide regular security awareness training to employees about safe network practices, phishing prevention, and compliance requirements.Maintain detailed documentation of network security configurations, security incidents, and incident response actions for future reference.Work with the IT Operations team to ensure that network security measures are in place for business continuity. Implement security features as part of the disaster recovery plan.Participate in periodic application security health checks.Perform any additional duties as directed by the Rewards and Performance Manager.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science OR any other related field from a recognized university.
