Join to apply for theEngineer, Civil/Structuralrole atIntrepid GS.Position is contingent upon contract funding.Essential Job FunctionsMust be capable of civil design services including preparation of civil/site work drawings, structural evaluations and designs, and water/sewer designs based on existing local utilities and facility load and use.Perform all aspects of engineering analysis and design for projects from concept stages through final design and construction management including knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards.Review and analyze preliminary, interim, and final project plans and specifications for technical efficiency and adequacy.Review and provide general monitoring on Host Nation funded project development work for new construction, renovation, and improvement projects for real property facilities.Interpret methods and approaches in developing project calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications that support project objectives and standards.Review and provide general monitoring on conceptual studies and sketches that indicate pertinent project features, material, equipment, and specifications.Monitor all project phases with appropriate managers and staff elements and maintain current engineering data for assigned projects.Coordinate projects with AFCENT TSG for engineers in other disciplines, operations personnel (e.g., Electric, Power Production, HVAC, Structures, Pavements and Equipment, and Utilities shops) and other U. S. Government entities to include Wing Safety, Force Protection, Security Forces, Communications, Fire Department, and Medical Group to verify safety, constructability, operability, maintainability, and that all project considerations have been addressed.Monitor and report on assigned projects and review specifications and schedules.Verify construction for design compliance and assist with resolution of differences between the U. S. and Host Nation building code.Efficiently use computers and computer software including Microsoft Office, CAD programs (Auto CAD), project tracking programs (Microsoft Project), GIS, and other engineering calculation software packages to solve engineering problems and facilitate work as needed.Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent experience related to job duties and functions.Four (4) or more years of civil/structural and design engineering work experience on a U. S. Government/ Military installation.A Licensed Civil Engineer is preferred.License & CertificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) is desirable.Knowledge & SkillsAdvanced knowledge of architectural building systems.Advanced knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply/incorporate into technical documents.Proficient in Auto CAD 2012 or later and use Auto CAD to create presentable and accurate facility and infrastructure plans for concept and statement of work requirements for project execution.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.Capable of traveling between ADAB TSG and AUAB TSG sites, as required, up to 4 times per year (4 working days, two travel days) to backfill and attend meetings.TravelAs needed for the role.Security ClearanceSECRET security clearance.Intrepid Acquisition Holdings, LLC.
