Working within a PMC environment, the role ensures designs are safe, code‑compliant, operations‑ready, on‑brand, and integrated with architecture, landscape, structures, MEP, geotechnical, utilities, access, and environmental requirements through concept to IFC and into construction support.</p><h3>Key Objectives / Outcomes</h3><ul><li>Deliver<b>coordinated, buildable IFC design</b>packages for adventure sports elements to programme, budget, and quality targets.</li><li>Ensure<b>safety‑by‑design</b>(risk‑informed design, redundancy, fall protection, rescue/access strategies).</li><li>Achieve full<b>technical integration</b>across disciplines and contractors (structures, MEP, civils, geotech, architecture, landscape, power/controls, IT/AV, lighting, wayfinding).</li><li>Ensure designs enable efficient<b>operations, inspection, maintenance, and guest throughput</b>consistent with the intended experience.</li></ul><h3>Reporting&Interfaces</h3><ul><li><b>Reports to:</b>Design Director / Project Director (PMC)</li><li><b>Direct reports:</b>Package/design coordinators (as assigned)</li></ul><h3>Core Responsibilities</h3><h3>Design Management (End‑to‑End)</h3><ul><li>Own and maintain the<b>Adventure Sports Design Management Plan</b>(scope, deliverables, interfaces, governance, review gates).</li><li>Drive design stages: concept, schematic, detailed design, IFC ensuring timely inputs, decision logs, and design sign‑offs.</li><li>Manage the designer and specialist supply chain: TORs, appointment deliverables, design programmes, and performance</li></ul><h3>Safety, Risk&Compliance (Safety‑by‑Design)</h3><ul><li>Embed a formal<b>hazard identification and risk assessment</b>process into design (e.g., HAZID workshops, design risk register).</li><li>Ensure requirements are included for:<ul><li>fall protection and working at height</li><li>emergency egress and rescue access</li><li>lightning protection and weather operating envelopes</li><li>structural and dynamic load cases (participants, wind, fatigue)</li><li>inspection and certification regimes (third‑party testing where required)</li></ul></li><li>Coordinate with HSE and operator to confirm safe operating procedures are design‐supported (not retrofitted).</li></ul><h3>Technical Coordination&Interfaces</h3><ul><li>Coordinate all interfaces between adventure assets and enabling works:<ul><li>foundations, anchors, retaining structures, platforms, bridges</li><li>power supply, controls/SCADA (where relevant), lighting, communications, CCTV</li><li>access roads/trails, guest circulation, queuing, crowd management</li><li>water drainage/erosion control, slope stability, rockfall risk measures</li><li>environmental constraints, protected areas, visual impact, noise</li></ul></li><li>Lead multidisciplinary coordination meetings and manage clash/issue resolution (including BIM coordination if applicable).</li><li>Work with commercial/cost consultant to align the design with budget and manage<b>design‑to‑cost</b>.</li><li>Lead value engineering without compromising safety, experience intent, or operability.</li><li>Track design progress vs master schedule; identify long‑lead items (specialist equipment, cables, harness systems, controllers, fabricated steelworks) and drive early procurement inputs.</li></ul><h3>Stakeholder, Authority&Operator Alignment</h3><ul><li>Serve as focal point for design communications with the client, operator, and authorities.</li><li>Prepare and manage submissions for approvals/permits as applicable (authority requirements to be confirmed per project and location in KSA).</li><li>Ensure the<b>operator requirements</b>(capacity, guest flow, staffing, maintenance access, storage, training spaces) are incorporated.</li></ul><h3>Construction Support&Hand
