Job Description

The Cost Control Engineer supports the project team throughout all phases of project delivery by managing project budgeting, cost monitoring, forecasting, and financial reporting activities. The role plays a key part in ensuring projects are executed within approved cost baselines, while supporting effective cost control, variance analysis, and financial performance aligned with project scope and schedule.Key ResponsibilitiesCost Control & Financial ManagementDevelopment and maintenance of project cost budgets and forecastsCost tracking, expenditure monitoring, and variance analysisPreparation of cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial dashboardsSupport to change management, including evaluation of cost impactsUnderstanding of earned value management (EVM) principlesCost risk identification and mitigationAnalytical & Technical SkillsStrong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detailAbility to interpret financial data and identify cost trendsAccurate data validation and reconciliationAdvanced Excel and data analysis capabilityPlanning & CoordinationClose coordination with project controls, planning, procurement, and construction teamsSupport to project managers in cost-related decision makingTimely collection and consolidation of cost data from multiple stakeholdersInterface with finance teams for invoicing, accruals, and cost actualsCommunication & ReportingClear and concise reporting of cost performance to project and management teamsAbility to explain cost variances and forecasts to non-financial stakeholdersStrong written and verbal communication skillsProfessional AttributesHigh level of integrity, accountability, and ownershipAbility to manage priorities and meet reporting deadlinesProactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven approachAdaptable to fast-paced, multi-project environments#J-18808-Ljbffr
