Chief Accountant

Chief AccountantThe Chief Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily tasks and operations of the accounting department through monitoring, controlling, and analyzing accounting data, budgets, and financial statements, ensuring proper reconciliation of accounts.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxesPrepare periodic financial reports and weekly cash flow statements in accordance with IFRS and report to direct managerParticipate in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts in coordination with internal stakeholdersFollow up on account payables and receivables and related reconciliationsLiaise regularly with the direct manager and other internal stakeholders on all financial reporting activities and accounting inquiriesPrepare the payroll and coordinate the closing process on a monthly basisMonitor inventory levels and assist in the management of stock depreciationReview, control, and validate tax declarations as per country laws and regulationsMaintain a solid relationship with banks and financial institutions to guarantee the best terms and conditions for the companyWork with external and internal auditors and assist with the required information and documentation as appropriateAssess current practices and procedures and conduct periodic evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities and system optimizationEnsure the existing IT platform is optimally utilized and participate in the implementation of new systems/processesPosition RequirementsPrevious experience in distribution companies or consumer electronics industry is requiredStrong knowledge of UAE local regulations, VAT, and compliance requirements, with strong IFRS expertiseExperience working with or within major retail or telecom environments is a strong advantageFamiliarity with warranty accounting and related processesHands‑on experience with financial closings, financial statements preparation, cash flow management, and management reportingStrong operational accounting background covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and complianceComfortable handling VAT filings, regulatory reporting, and audit coordinationEducationBachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceExperienceMinimum 8 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a Chief Accountant position.#J-18808-Ljbffr
