Chief Accountant

OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to lead the accounting function for a company in the F&B/Retail space. This role is responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting business growth through sound financial management. The ideal candidate brings deep accounting expertise, hands-on leadership, and a strong understanding of retail and F&B operations.ResponsibilitiesOversee all accounting activities for the Retail and F&B division, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, inventory accounting, and fixed assetsPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standardsEnsure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processesManage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis; provide actionable financial insights to managementMonitor cash flow, cost controls, margins, and profitability across outlets and retail operationsEnsure compliance with tax regulations, statutory filings, and external audit requirementsEstablish and maintain effective internal controls, policies, and accounting proceduresSupervise, mentor, and develop the accounting teamCollaborate closely with operations, procurement, and management to support strategic and operational decisionsSupport system improvements and ERP/accounting software enhancementsQualificationsExperience in forecasting and cost controlling for F&B industry.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred).Minimum 7–10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior or managerial role.Proven experience in Retail and/or Food & Beverage accounting, including inventory and cost of sales management.Strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting.Advanced proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel; ERP system experience is a plus.Excellent leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines.Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functional.#J-18808-Ljbffr
