Job DescriptionFor all staff in school we share a responsibility to ensure that children are safe and properly supervised at all times. All post holders are subject to appropriate vetting procedures and satisfactory Criminal Background Checks or equivalent covering the previous 10 years’ employment history.Key Qualities And SkillsTo be able to develop positive working relationships with all members of the school communityTo be able to use initiative, be flexible, fun, proactive and positiveTo be kind, approachable and professionalTo be able to communicate accurately in EnglishCore PurposesTo ensure children are safe and well supervised on the busTo ensure the school is spotlessly clean at all timesKey Duties IncludeWorking as a bus monitor at the start and end of the day – transporting children to and from school safely.Managing pupil behaviour in a positive manner and being a positive role model in line with The Aquila Way on behaviour e.g. giving golden tickets, acknowledging children who have made good choices etc.Keeping all areas of the school spotlessly clean.To ensure confidentiality at all times – never discussing any aspect of the work of the school other than with colleagues in school.To maintain stock levels and keep account of consumables.In addition, all staff are required to carry out any tasks required by the school or the regional office to facilitate the smooth day to day running of the school.To be line managed by the facilities manager and welfare supervisor.Hours of work – 9 hours per day from Monday to Friday, plus 4 hours on Sunday.Holidays – 30 working days paid leave and pro‑rata for each uncompleted year.The annual leave year runs from September to August. Leave can be taken after successful completion of the probation period and only during school breaks.ISP PrinciplesBegin with our children and students.
