Job Description
A Warehouse Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector in the apparel industry ensures finished garments meet brand specifications, quality standards (e.g., AQL), and compliance requirements. They inspect incoming/outgoing inventory for defects, perform random sampling, manage packing quality, and document results to prevent defective products from reaching customers.Key ResponsibilitiesIncoming/Outgoing Inspection: Inspect incoming shipments and inventory for damage, defects, quantity discrepancies, and compliance with purchase orders and quality specificationsQuality Auditing: Perform random final audits, often using Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) standards to accept or reject shipments.Defect Identification: Check for stitching, fabric defects, color, fit, labeling, measurements and construction errors.Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed inspection logs, document non-conformity, and provide quality reports to management.Packing Inspection: Verify accuracy in packing, including labels, SKU, sizing, and quantity to ensure proper final dispatch.Corrective Action: Collaborate with HOD or warehouse teams to resolve quality issues.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certification or training in quality assurance is preferred.Garment Construction Knowledge: Deep understanding of fabric types, stitching, and garment manufacturing processes.Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in measuring tools (e.g., tape measures) and understanding tech packs.Attention to Detail: Ability to detect minor defects.Experience: Previous experience in garment quality control (often 2-5+ years, depending on the level).Tools: Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or basic computer skills for reporting.Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Preferred QualificationsCertification in Quality Assurance or Quality Control (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector)Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systemsFamiliarity with regulatory requirements in relevant industries.Experience operating measuring and testing equipment.This position operates primarily in a warehouse environment with exposure to variable temperatures, noise, and physical demands.
