Warehouse Assistant

Key ResponsibilitiesGoods receipt: Unload deliveries check items against delivery documentation inspect for damage and record receipts in the warehouse system.Stock handling and storage: Move and store goods safely and efficiently ensuring correct labelling accurate location placement and adherence to storage procedures.Order picking and packing: Pick items accurately to order specifications pack goods securely for dispatch and prepare shipping documentation.Inventory control: Assist with stock counts and cycle counts report discrepancies and help maintain accurate inventory records within the stock management system.Loading and dispatch: Stage outbound consignments load vehicles safely and liaise with carriers to ensure timely collection and delivery.Health & safety and housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe working environment follow manual handling procedures use PPE appropriately and report hazards or incidents promptly.Equipment use: Operate warehouse equipment (e.g. pallet trucks trolleys). Where required operate powered equipment only after authorised training and certification.Team support: Work cooperatively with colleagues assist with ad-hoc warehouse tasks and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.Qualifications & ExperiencePrevious experience in a warehouse distribution or logistics environment preferred.Familiarity with stock control systems or warehouse management systems is an advantage.Hold or be willing to obtain relevant vocational certificates (e.g. forklift licence) where role requires operating powered equipment.Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.Physically able to undertake manual handling tasks; an understanding of safe lifting techniques is required.Skills & AttributesAttention to detail and accuracy when picking and recording stock.Organised reliable and punctual with a flexible approach to working hours as required by operational needs.Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new systems and processes.Commitment to health & safety and maintaining a clean working environment.#J-18808-Ljbffr
