Vice President - Civil Design

Job PurposeLead and manage the Civil Design team, ensuring all projects are designed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability in line with Aldar development’s standard, value proposition and regulatory requirements. Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.Roles And ResponsibilitiesOversee design and delivery of civil engineering solutions for a variety of infrastructure projects.Oversee the planning, design, and coordination of civil elements, including roadways, utilities, drainage systems, grading, and other infrastructure components.Develop and implement civil design standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all projects.Review and approve civil design calculations, drawings, and models, ensuring accuracy, compliance with regulations, and alignment with client requirements.Monitor the progress of civil design work, identifying and addressing any issues or conflicts that may arise during the design phase.Ensure adherence to local building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards in the civil design process.Conduct site visits to assess conditions, support construction activities, and resolve any technical issues that may arise during implementation.Manage all civil engineering consultants on a day‑to‑day basis to ensure that designs and technical drawings will be carried out appropriately and aligned with the approved designs.Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the integration of civil designs with other building systems.Coordinate with MEP and architecture design to carry out civil design modifications for interfaces of building structures as required.Manage project documentation and reporting, ensuring all records are accurate and up‑to‑date.Identify possible value engineering ideas to cut costs/time and simplify delivery, in accordance with project teams.Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to continuously improve design processes and team performance.Field Of ExperienceDeep exposure to GCC region and adjacent markets preferred.Demonstrated track record in Civil/Structural design for real estate industry.Technical And Interpersonal SkillsStrong knowledge of structural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, etc.).Excellent understanding of building codes, safety standards, and local regulations.Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.Strong attention to detail, with a focus on quality and efficiency in design execution.Experience in managing and leading multidisciplinary teams in adesign and project delivery environment.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.Strong project management skills, with experience in budget, schedule, and scope management.Ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field.Master’s Degree preferred.We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
