As a Veterinary Technician, you’ll assist in medical treatments, emergency care, and rehabilitation programs, from administering medications to supporting research and wildlife rescue efforts. Your expertise in animal health protocols, diagnostic procedures, and hands‑on care will directly impact animal well‑being and conservation initiatives. The ideal candidate brings a Veterinary Nursing Diploma or degree, at least two years of clinical experience, and a passion for non‑domestic species, paired with strong communication, adaptability, and technical skills in data management and equipment maintenance. Expect a dynamic environment where your contributions shape both daily operations and long‑term animal health strategies, with opportunities to collaborate across teams and engage in fieldwork. This role offers a chance to merge clinical skills with conservation impact in a globally recognized facility.ResponsibilitiesAssists with veterinary treatments and procedures for all aspects of SeaWorld Abu Dhabi’s collection as directed by VeterinarianRestrains patients for procedures performed by veterinary staffCoordinates medical procedures, treatment, routine husbandry behavioral scheduling and other protocols as directed by the leadership teamsAdministers injections or oral medication in accordance with Hospital PolicyObserves animal behaviour and/or health conditions, and reports findings to Veterinarian, and Hospital ManagementAssisting in emergency veterinary casesMaintains and cleans the medical areas, kennels, surgical room, and equipmentPerforms pharmaceutical and medical supplies inventories and updates the tracker accordinglyParticipates in the medical care and rehabilitation of rescued wildlife including but not limited to marine mammals including dugongs and cetaceans, avian species, reptiles, and marine lifeAssists with anesthetic procedures, radiology procedures, collection of veterinary samples, and preparation of samples for diagnostic testingMaintains sterilization protocol via autoclave systems for surgical kits and instrumentsConsults and educates the animal colleagues, leadership teams and occasionally guests, in areas of health, welfare, and husbandryAssists with animal health research projects and prepares data results for presentations and peer‑reviewed publicationsLiaises with Nutritional Support staff, Laboratory Diagnostic team, and Animal Care staffAssists with maintaining all animal records, in Tracks Software, or data systemsAssists in the field for rescues, health assessments and field research with various species when requiredWorks in varying shifts/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid‑and closing shifts; weekends, and holidaysQualificationsVeterinary Nursing Diploma/Degree or equivalentVeterinary Nursing Diploma/Degree, in a related field or equivalentAt least 2 years of proven experience in a veterinary hospital as a veterinary nursing technicianGuiding The Miral Way While Managing Others#J-18808-Ljbffr
