Utility Operator

Job PurposeTo support Pot Line operations through on-the-job training by assisting Cell Operators in the safe and efficient production of molten aluminium.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in anode changing, pot beam raising, tapping preparation, and metal samplingSupport pot operations including skimming, bath tapping, material addition, and housekeepingAssist in gutter, basement, and equipment cleaningAttend anode effects and PTM (Pot Tending Machine) training as requiredEnsure safety standards, proper placement of pot shields/doors, and adherence to 5S practicesIdentify and report hazards to maintain a safe work environmentMinimum QualificationsSecondary School Certificate1 year experience in heavy industry preferredPhysically fit and willing to work shifts in potroomsBasic understanding/learning ability of aluminium smelting processBasic English communication skillsHigh School Diploma (completion of technical secondary school) with a relevant trade certification.Should you require any further information, feel free to reach out.Minimum Experience1 to 2 years of experience in a production plant is highly preferable (e.g. alumina, gas, oil or petrochemical plants).Preferably, having a certification or training that will provide the position holder with the required basic knowledge alumina refinery fundamentals.SkillsPhysical fitness and ability to work within plantBasic knowledge of industrial processes / industrial background.Knowledge of continuous process operationsAbility to complete routing operations support tasks within the assigned Operations centre with minimal supervision.Understanding of safety, quality and environmental management and control proceduresGood communication skillsRisk awareness#J-18808-Ljbffr
