We are responsible for the global trade compliance program and policy having a diverse team currently located in Finland, China, the USA, Mexico, India, and Malaysia. We support the business strategically by working, advising, and training on a broad range of trade compliance topics such as customs tariffs, country of origin, export controls, and import/export regulations. We work in close cooperation with KONE’s global functions, areas, and local country units to develop KONE’s trade compliance environment and processes throughout the company’s operations.We are looking for a Trade Compliance Manager to be responsible for the geographical area of the Middle East, Trkiye, and Africa to join our team. The role will be based in the UAE reporting to Area Trade Compliance Manager APM & China.In this role you will:Monitor & implement relevant regulatory developments applicable to the KONE environmentAdvice and train business units and global functions on trade compliance subject matters such as customs tariffs, country of origin, and free trade agreementsTake lead in developing applicable trade compliance processes and participate in key projects as a subject matter expertSupport in customs and other relevant auditsLiaise with internal parties such as procurement, logistics, tax, legal compliance and local business units and external parties such as customs brokers and relevant authoritiesWe are looking for candidates with:Minimum 8 years of relevant trade compliance experienceSuitable educational background e.g. with international trade, logistics, economics or other relevant educationKnowledge of trade compliance regulatory requirements in the area of Middle East, Trkiye and AfricaUnderstanding of customs tariff classification practice, country of origin & free trade agreement requirements and customs valuationWillingness to continuously develop own expertise in the field of trade complianceHigh motivation to work as part of a global team with the ability to make effective decisions and drive issues promptlyStrong compliance mindsetExperience of independently managing cross-functional activities in a changing environmentExperience of working in an international and multicultural environment with a record of managing both internal and external stakeholdersThe ability to collect, manage and analyze data in a structured and efficient manner and to identify key issues and root causesThe ability to summarize and present complex facts to non-specialist audiencesAvailability and willingness to travel worldwide when necessaryStrong technical skills including MS Office, SAP are an advantageFluent written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantageWhat do you get in returnWe offer a unique opportunity to work in an international, fast-moving environment in a position that will allow you to interact with both internal and external stakeholders and to demonstrate and develop expertise in a wide range of trade compliance topics.KONE is an equal opportunity employer assuring equal treatment to all individuals regardless of for example race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, age, marital status or disability.
