Thermal Insulation Technician

<div><h3>Role Description</h3><p>A Flexible Removable Insulation Lagging Technician (often specialized within pipe insulation or mechanical insulation roles) is responsible for designing, measuring, fabricating, installing, and maintaining removable thermal or acoustic insulation blankets ("jackets" or "covers"). Unlike rigid insulation, these specialized, reusable jackets are designed for quick removal to allow for inspection and maintenance of machinery, pipes, valves, and flanges without damaging the insulation material.</p><h3>Job Duties and Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Design&Pattern Making: Review engineering drawings and measure complex equipment components (valves, flanges, pumps) to design custom‑fit, removable blankets.</li><li>Fabrication: Cut and sew high‑temperature fabric, fiberglass, or silica fabric covers, ensuring precise fit.</li><li>Installation: Fit blankets onto hot or cold piping/ mechanical equipment, using fastening systems like stainless steel wire, Velcro, D‑rings, or straps to secure them tightly.</li><li>Maintenance&Removal: Remove and reinstall jackets during plant turnarounds or for regular equipment inspection, ensuring no damage occurs during the process.</li><li>Safety Compliance: Ensure the insulation provides required thermal, acoustic, or fire protection to protect personnel from burns and improve energy efficiency.</li><li>Site Inspection: Conduct on‑site inspections of existing insulation to identify damage or efficiency losses and recommend repairs.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Technical Proficiency: Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.</li><li>Fabrication Skills: Experience in sewing or working with heavy industrial fabrics, using specialized tools, and handling insulation materials (fiberglass, mineral wool).</li><li>Mathematical Aptitude: Accurate measurement and calculation skills to ensure a tight, effective fit.</li><li>Physical Stamina: Ability to work in tight, cramped areas, at heights, or in high‑temperature environments.</li><li>Safety Awareness: Strict adherence to OSHA guidelines and safety procedures, including knowledge of handling asbestos if removing old materials.</li><li>Industrial settings such as breweries, power plants, petrochemical plants, refineries, and manufacturing facilities.</li><li>Working with pipes, boilers, heat exchangers, and tanks.</li><li>The work may be physically demanding and involve working in dusty or confined areas.</li></ul><p>Interested candidates may email their CV on safe4tex@gmail.com or send their CV on Whatsapp - 0565982524, 0585806603</p></div>#J-18808-Ljbffr
