SummaryResponsible for the safe, efficient and productive operations of all yard and vessel activities.Duties & ResponsibilitiesEnsure that safe working practises are being followed by all responsible staff members and third-party terminal users.Ensures efficient deployment of terminal resources.Ensures operational readiness ahead of vessel arrivals, including the safe positioning of quayside assets.Optimises vessel/yard efficiency under the supervision of the duty Vessel Controller.Ensures terminal housekeeping and maintenance duties are performed as required.Liaises with the Engineering Dept. regarding defective equipment and servicing requirements.Ensures operators are training whenever possible.Able to effectively communicate at all levels, with customers internal and external.Performs other duties as required.QualificationEducational BackgroundBachelor's Degree/ Diploma or equivalent.Technical Qualification / CertificationSafety certificates e.g. first aid/IOSH would be favoredDriving licenseRelated Work ExperienceA minimum of 5 years’ experience in container terminal operations.
