Job Description As a Software Developer at Milacron, your role is crucial in ensuring the development and implementation of all software designs for injection molding and extrusion machines. Your primary responsibilities include: - Developing software for new products and features based on market demands, internal and external customer requirements, competitor product analysis, and enhancements. - Actively participating in various development and design phases to ensure timely implementation of customer requests and projects within budget. - Maintaining and standardizing existing software features for different machines to enhance their functionality. - Prioritizing machine and human safety through your work. - Demonstrating the ability to work independently and provide innovative solutions. - Providing on-shore and off-shore support for global projects involving existing machines and new products. - Collaborating with manufacturing to enhance customer satisfaction by supporting installed systems effectively. - Identifying areas for cost reduction and product improvement, and taking initiatives to enhance product reliability. - Staying updated with new technologies to ensure that the controls software solutions remain cutting-edge and cost-effective. - Maintaining records in compliance with ISO and other relevant standards, and managing various MIS records, data preparation, and analysis. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor/Master of Engineering in Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Electronics & Communication, Electrical, or equivalent. - 8 to 10 years of experience in industrial automation control systems with expertise in motion control, PLC programming, HMI design, and field bus communications. - Proficiency in IEC 61131-3 PLC programming and C/C++ languages. - Knowledge of higher-level languages like HTML5, JS, Python would be advantageous. - Experience in working with global teams is a plus. - Willingness to work in different time zones for global projects. - Ability to independently fulfill responsibilities with minimal supervision. - Familiarity with KEBA, Beckhoff, and B&R controller systems is beneficial.
