These include notable home‑grown brands such as Sun & Sand Sports, Dropkick, Supercare, Pharmacy, Farm Fresh, Klassic and international brands like Nike, Columbia, Converse, Timberland, Vans, Mama Sitas and McCain.What you’ll be doing:The SAP Tech Lead is responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of scalable and maintainable SAP solutions to support business requirements. This role involves managing a team of SAP developers ensuring adherence to best practices and collaborating with functional and business stakeholders to deliver high‑quality technical solutions across various SAP modules. The role demands deep technical expertise in SAP development tools and platforms along with strong leadership and project management capabilities.Responsibilities:Lead the end‑to‑end technical delivery of SAP solutions including analysis, design, development and implementation.Manage and mentor a team of SAP developers across modules such as Retail POS, EWM and CAR.Translate functional specifications into detailed technical designs and guide development accordingly.Ensure compliance with SAP development standards and best practices including performance optimisation.Oversee development activities including coding, code reviews, testing, documentation and deployment.Collaborate with functional consultants, project managers, business analysts and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with business needs.Manage project timelines, allocate resources effectively and mitigate risks in development phases.Drive innovation by staying updated with emerging SAP technologies such as ABAP RESTful Programming Model, Fiori/UI5, BTP and CDS Views.Support integration scenarios using PI/PO, BAPI, BADI, OData services and other middleware tools.Provide support for S/4HANA migration and implementation projects.Proactively identify and resolve complex technical issues and system bottlenecks.Foster a collaborative team culture and promote knowledge sharing.Functional / Technical Competencies:SAP ABAP, PI/PO, BAPI, BADI, OData, CDS ViewsSAP Fiori/UI5 application developmentSAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)SAP Retail POS, EWM and CAR functional knowledgeIntegration with third‑party applications and middlewarePerformance tuning and code optimisationS/4HANA system architecture and migration knowledgeEffective leadership and mentorship of development teamsDelivery of high‑quality scalable and maintainable SAP customisationsEfficient project and resource managementContinuous process improvements and adherence to technical governanceStrong stakeholder engagement and communicationEducation:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.Experience:10 years of experience in SAP development with at least 3 years in a technical lead role; Proven experience in leading development teams and delivering SAP solutions; Exposure to large‑scale SAP implementations and S/4HANA migrations preferred.Why Join GMGAt GMG we are dedicated to nurturing a vibrant, inclusive and engaging work environment that promotes growth, innovation and well‑being.
