Job Description

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Teaching & Learning Coach to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a key leadership role, reporting directly to the Principal, with a whole-school remit to drive excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment.The successful candidate will work collaboratively with senior and middle leaders, including the SENCO and phase leaders, to embed a culture of high performance, innovation, and continuous improvement across the school.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate educator to shape pedagogy, develop staff, and ensure consistently high standards of student progress and achievement.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the development of teaching and learning across the school, with a focus on pedagogy, progress, and academic standardsDrive excellence in both internal and external assessmentsDesign and deliver a high-quality professional development programme for all teaching staffCoach and mentor teachers to develop reflective practice and innovative teaching strategiesConduct supportive lesson observations and contribute to quality assurance processesMonitor and improve the quality of feedback and assessment practices across the schoolEnsure schemes of work, lesson planning, and assessment documentation meet GEMS standardsSupport the implementation of school improvement priorities and contribute to strategic planningLead internal inspection processes, including audits, reporting, and follow-up actionsIdentify and share best practice across the school, promoting collaboration and continuous improvementContribute to staff recruitment processes, including delivering micro-teach sessionsWork closely with SLT to track progress against school targets and provide regular updatesAcademic & Pastoral ResponsibilitiesBuild strong professional relationships with teachers, fostering a culture of openness and ambitionSupport staff in developing outstanding teaching and assessment practicesLead training sessions on teaching and learning during staff development daysPromote inclusive, differentiated teaching that meets the needs of all learnersEngage in external networks, peer reviews, and ongoing professional developmentGeneral ResponsibilitiesModel and promote the GEMS Core Values and Code of Conduct at all timesSupport the wider life of the school, including duties, events, and after-school programmesContribute to inspection readiness, school self-evaluation (SEF), and school development planning (SDP)Represent and promote the school positively within the communityRespect local culture, customs, and laws, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all timesUndertake additional duties as reasonably delegated by the Principal#J-18808-Ljbffr
