Job DescriptionWe are seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Science (Physics) to join our team in September 2026. For suitably qualified candidates, there may be opportunities for middle leadership roles in curriculum, Head of Year, ECA Coordination, or Head of Careers. FPS is also a host venue for NPQ courses, with senior leaders delivering NPQSL and NPQH to aspiring colleagues from across the region.SkillsSuccessful candidates will:Have experience teaching Physics at A LevelDeliver engaging and high-quality lessons aligned with the British curriculumDemonstrate strong subject knowledge in Physics and adapt teaching to meet the needs of diverse learnersPlan, prepare, and assess effectively, maintaining accurate records of student progressCreate a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes innovation, curiosity, and a love of learningUse technology effectively to enhance teaching and learningContribute to co‑curricular and extra‑curicular programmes, supporting whole‑school initiatives and eventsUphold GEMS policies, procedures, and core values at all timesCommunicate regularly with parents, colleagues, and external stakeholders to support student developmentEngage in continuous professional development and performance managementCandidate ProfileBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics or a related Science subjectTeaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)Strong classroom practice with a proven ability to inspire and motivate students in PhysicsCommitment to inclusive education and personalised learningWillingness to contribute to wider school life and a collaborative professional learning cultureGEMS Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all of its students and staff.
