This facility acts as a social, sporting and performance hub for the local and international communities, and the campus enhances our already outstanding educational provision while leveraging the Aldar Academies brand.ResponsibilitiesAssist the academy in achieving its vision and strategic targets as set out in the academy’s improvement plan and self-evaluation formComply with health and safety regulations and adhere to academy policies relating to safe working practice and equal opportunitiesComply with the academy’s Performance Management Policy; set challenging annual targets and fulfill the role of performance management reviewer if directed by the PrincipalEngage in annual training related to child protection, safeguarding and health and safety, plus any additional training for academy improvement or performance managementAttend all staff briefingsCreate a climate conducive to outstanding learning and teachingIdentify clear teaching objectives and specify how they will be taught and assessedSet tasks that challenge students and maintain high levels of interestSet clear targets, building on prior attainmentIdentify SEN or very able studentsProvide clear structures for lessons, maintaining pace, motivation and challengeMake effective use of assessment and ensure coverage of programmes of studyUse performance data and key indicators to inform planning and deliver differentiated learning matched to needEnsure effective teaching and best use of available timeMaintain an effective learning environment in accordance with academy procedures; encourage punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and homeworkUse a variety of teaching methods to tailor approach to content, structure information, present key ideas and use appropriate vocabularyUse effective questioning, listen to students, address errors and misconceptionsSelect appropriate learning resources and develop study skills through library, ICT and other learning technologiesEnsure students acquire and consolidate knowledge, skills and understanding appropriate to the subjectEvaluate own teaching to improve effectivenessMark and monitor students’ work and set targets for progressAssess and record students’ progress systematically; keep records to check understanding, monitor strengths and areas for development, inform planning and recognise level of achievementUndertake assessment of students as required by examination bodies, departmental and academy proceduresPrepare and present informative reports to parentsParticipate in subject or academy work and develop plans with clear targets and success criteriaContribute to the whole academy’s visioning activitiesStrive to give every child the opportunity to reach their potential and meet high expectationsCo-operate with staff to share and optimise resources for the benefit of the academy, department and studentsContribute to the academy’s corporate life through participation in meetings and governance tasks to coordinate leadership and managementTake part in marketing and liaison activities such as Open evenings/afternoons, Parent-Teacher Consultations, and partner academy eventsQualificationsMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Education or other relevant field with a teaching qualificationMinimum of 2 years’ experience teaching specialist subject up to GCSE and A LevelJob Specific Knowledge & SkillsPrevious experience working with students for whom English is not their first languagePassion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole childA high level of professionalism and consideration for the well-being of childrenRecent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activitiesRespect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age and ethnic backgroundA positive and solution-focused attitude to working lifeA clean enha
