System control engineer (special expert)

Qualifications & ExperienceQualification: Bachelor\'s Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering from a reputed university.Experience: More than 25 years of relevant experience in a similar electric utility of which minimum 15+years of supervisory experience preferably in the area of electricity control systems. Experience working in Qatar Electricity sector is most preferred.Good knowledge about international standards and have work experience of Kahramaa standards operating Procedure and practices.Good interpersonal skills and maturity of judgment for Network operation during Normal & Emergency situations.Fluent in English correspondence. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.Computer literate and presentation skill.Interview: Must pass authorization interview and qualify as Senior Authorized person.Major DutiesManages and ensures the safety, reliability and security of the electricity generation, transmission and distribution networks within the National Control Center.Ensures the safety, reliability & security of the GCCIA Interconnection with Qatar Network and operational coordination for Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Grid.Supervises and plans the operation of National Control Center and Doha Grid Control Center for Kahramaa.Oversees the continuity of power supply to the industrial and domestic consumers.Ensures constant communication and responsiveness by the National Control Center and Doha Grid Control Center teams in case of any abnormalities, malfunctions and emergencies that may occur in the electricity transmission network.Develop black-out plans and dispatching procedures proactively in response to unforeseen emergencies.Ensures compliance with operational policies of Kahramaa, across the Electricity Network.Oversees the effective conduct of repair works and other activities.Proposes technical suggestions to improve system operations.Participates in the preparation of technical and statistical reports on a frequent basis to keep management and other internal stakeholders abreast of Kahramaa network performance.
