System Control Engineer (Network Planning Expert)

Preferred Qualification: PhD in Engineering.Minimum Qualifications:BSc. in Electrical Engineering.Master’s degree.20+ years of experience in Transmission Network Planning in utilities and consultancy).2+ years in system studies related to Transmission Network.Leadership Experience: 5+ years.Objective:Provide expert consultation for the strategic planning and development of Kahramaa’s high voltage transmission network to ensure system adequacy, reliability, and alignment with Qatar’s national growth and future electricity demand forecasts.Major duties:Provide expert consultation on the strategic planning and development of Kahramaa’s Extra high and high voltage transmission network (400 KV, 220 KV, 132 KV, 66 KV) to support future demand growth and system reliability.Ensure compliance with Kahramaa’s grid codes, international standards (IEEE, IEC), and best practices.Identify the potential improvement points in grid code, procedures, and guidelines.SkillsIdentify transmission system bottlenecks and recommend reinforcement or new infrastructure projects.Perform techno-economic evaluations to determine the most cost-effective and reliable transmission solutions.Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and feasibility studies for management and stakeholders.Provide guidance on project prioritization and investment decisions by developing comprehensive feasibility studies and investment plans that ensure alignment with technical, economic, and strategic objectives.Monitor emerging technologies, industry trends, and policy changes to be incorporated into transmission planning.Develop and update long-term transmission network expansion plans aligned with future requirements.Interconnection plan for new generation facility (conventional and renewable (IBR)).Conduct brief steady-state and short circuit analysis.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Train junior engineers.#J-18808-Ljbffr
