System Assurance Manager – Abu DhabiRINA is seeking a System Assurance Manager to join its Electronics and System Engineering Division in Abu Dhabi.MissionThe role focuses on ensuring railway systems operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime by overseeing the entire system assurance lifecycle—from design to operation and maintenance.Key AccountabilitiesSupport the implementation and coordination of RAMS processes across project phases.Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards when developing RAMS deliverables.Manage system-level disciplines such as Electromagnetic Compatibility, Human Factors & Ergonomics, Fire Life Safety, Security, Cybersecurity, Earthing & Bonding, Electrical risks, Authorization & Homologation.Conduct risk assessments using methods like FMECA, event tree analysis, and fault tree analysis to identify and evaluate hazards.Develop and review key RAMS deliverables, e.g., safety plans and hazard logs, maintaining accurate documentation throughout project phases.Collaborate with project teams, suppliers, operators, and authorities, participating in safety‑related meetings.Lead communication with Independent Assessors and Agencies.Ensure safety requirements are met during testing and commissioning, reviewing test plans.Provide updates on RAMS activities to project managers and stakeholders, communicating safety‑related issues and recommendations.Manage a team of engineers for system assurance activities, support workload management, and assist in hiring new resources.EducationMaster’s Degree in Electronic/TLC Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.QualificationsAt least 15 years of experience in a similar role.Proven capability managing complex projects in challenging environments.Experience leading multicultural teams.Understanding of functional safety principles and willingness to deepen expertise.Familiarity with railway industry regulations and safety standards, and with safety authorization and homologation processes (e.g., ERA, ANSFISA).Basic knowledge of RAMS analysis software and willingness to gain proficiency.Knowledge of international standards: EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, IEC 61508.Experience with RAMS techniques: FMEA, FMECA, FTA, ETA, RBD.Experience with risk & safety assessment tools: PHA, IHA, Hazard logs and risk matrices, ALARP, SIL.Knowledge of system‑level disciplines listed above.CompetenciesBig‑picture thinking and reinterpretation of scenarios.Network building and trust relationships across departments.Client intimacy and aligning solutions to client expectations.Earning trust and appreciating diversity.Decision making based on priorities, resources, and constraints.Emotion management and regulation.Pioneering change and embracing new circumstances.Promoting sustainable development and maintaining commitment.Forward‑thinking and translating experience into action plans.Equal Employment OpportunityWe are committed to equal employment opportunities and fostering a workplace free from discrimination or harassment.
