Switchgear Electrician

Job TitleSwitchgear ElectricianReports toSupervisor/ManagerJob ObjectivesInspect and performs preventive and maintenance on all lighting and electrical switchgear, including coordinating modifications with the Department.Responsibilities and dutiesNeeds to have the ability to read control panel drawings.Must have the ability to use hand tools and power tools in order to assemble, install, test, and maintain LV electrical control panels.Analyze the malfunctioning systems, equipment, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.Use a variety of tools and equipment such measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including ammeters, and test lamps, IR tester, Dielectric tester.Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and components.Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.Years of ExperienceMinimum of 3 years related experience#J-18808-Ljbffr
