Job Description As a Supply Chain Operations Specialist at Accenture, your role will involve supporting the demand forecasting and planning process to ensure alignment between supply and demand in order to meet business goals. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams such as sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain to develop and manage demand plans that optimize inventory levels, reduce stockouts, and minimize excess inventory. To excel in this role, you will need strong analytical skills, leadership abilities, and experience with demand planning best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Finalize the range, set baseline demand excluding promotions, and generate a statistical forecast
- Align with cost assumptions and pre-tag promotions to enable a ready-to-execute seasonal forecast
- Assign promotion forecast based on past sales data
- Review sales vs forecast for promotion lines, determine promotion changes, and amend forecast accordingly
- Assist the Merchandising team in implementing aspects of the category strategy to achieve KPIs
- Own and manage category/range & SKU level forecasts to optimize sales, profit, and availability
- Maintain accurate records of commitment to providing stock intake and output forecasts
- Collaborate with sourcing teams, brands, and suppliers to ensure optimal commitment and intake position
- Work with supply teams to meet stock and availability targets
Qualifications:
- 7 to 11 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Proven experience in demand forecasting, S&OP processes, and inventory management within a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Familiarity with ERP and demand planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis, or similar tools)
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across functions and present data to senior leadership
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in demand forecasting and reporting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a high-volume, dynamic supply chain or retail environment
- Understanding of key demand planning metrics (e.g., forecast accuracy, bias, stockouts, fill rates)
