Egis’ long history of providing comprehensive engineering, consulting, and project management services makes it a trusted partner for regional governments, investors, and developers.We are seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced Structures Engineer (Bridges & Highway Structures O&M) to join our team in Doha, Qatar on a long‑term project managing the Strategic Highways Structures in the country.In this role, you will be responsible for the inspections and maintenance of bridges and highway structures across the network, ensuring their safety, structural integrity and serviceability in compliance with the contract’s Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This includes bridges, footbridges, flyovers/interchanges, iconic bridges, tunnels, monuments, culverts, retaining walls, gantries, masts and other highway structural assets.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with contractual requirements for inspections, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance, meeting all required SLAs and KPIs – effectively eliminating any quality failures.Ensure accurate utilisation of Asset Management System (MAXIMO) to manage and close out Work Orders (Wos) and Service Requests (SRs) correctly and efficiently.Maintain accurate utilisation of Bridge Management System (BMS) ensuring accurate inventory, inspection reporting, condition and performance data.Analyse inspection data to assess structural conditions, identify deterioration rates, plan and carry out corrective maintenance and evaluate structural and/or safety risks.Support and lead inspection teams carrying out different types of inspections of bridges and highway structures, ensuring accurate reporting and acceptable works recommendations.Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams (e.g. traffic management, lighting, highways, pavement, HSE and other teams) to ensure integrated network operations and maintenance and maximise efficiency.Carry out structural assessments including structural analysis, assessment reporting and determination of structural capacity ratings.Propose capital improvement solutions (including strengthening, rehabilitation and replacement programmes) based on risk, structural capacity, safety impact and lifecycle cost analysis, and later lead on their delivery.Ensure compliance with relevant standards for inspection, maintenance and assessment in Qatar (which are mainly UK based) and asset management international best practices (e.g. ISO 55000 series).Lead on advancements in bridge inspection technologies, maintenance techniques and asset management practices and provide tangible input for innovation and efficiency.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering.Proven experience in operations and maintenance contracts of bridges and other highway structures.Solid understanding of structural behaviour and deterioration mechanisms in reinforced concrete, steel, composite and prestressed structures.Proven experience in bridge asset management, condition assessment methodologies and lifecycle planning.Experience with enterprise asset management solutions (preferably MAXIMO) and bridge management systems (preferably BMS).Proven experience in structural analysis, load rating and assessment of existing structures.Strong knowledge of structures maintenance and assessment standards (e.g., UK Inspection Manual, UK DMRB, Qatar QRMM and other relevant standards).Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret data and develop risk‑based maintenance and capital improvement strategies.Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple structural assets simultaneously and deliver resu
