The department is responsible for the strength verification of the vessels in the fleet and the design of various temporary works and structures, and for providing technical support to various business units/departments within the Offshore Energy division. We work with state‑of‑the‑art equipment that meets the highest quality and safety requirements.We are looking for a pragmatic and solution‑oriented engineer with an eye to safety. In the role of Structural Engineer, you will rely on your technical affinity and experience to make a stable contribution to our team. Provide “up‑to‑date” engineering advice and support, and assist in the development and improvement of structural engineering working methods, tools, and equipment.Your Responsibilities As a Structural Engineer:Prepare reports with design and verification calculations for all structural works within the scope, budget, and schedule.Develop various concepts for design and advise on the most suitable solution for the problem.Verify drawings to ensure they match with engineering performed.Initiate and document good engineering practices, tools, and departmental standards.Act as the first point of contact during the construction and fabrication of the designed items.Manage design and verification works at subcontractor engineering firms.Typical deliverables: sea fastening analyses, global hull analyses, lifting point verification, global strength verifications of vessels, jackets and topsides, on‑bottom stability analyses, strongpoint verifications, deck load diagrams, etc.Qualities and Experience:Recognised MSc or BSc Degree in Marine and Mechanical Engineering.5+ years of relevant offshore engineering experience; practical offshore experience.Proven expertise in FEA tools, with advanced skills in Ansys and scripting/automation via Python (PyAnsys). Additional skills in FEMAP, RFEM and Mathcad are appreciated.Strong insight into constructability with practical shipyard and offshore considerations.Extensive knowledge of class rules for vessels (LR, BV, ABS), offshore structures (DNV, API), and operational guidelines (DNVGL) used by MWS.Able to write Basis of Design, Design Briefs, and specifications.A good command of spoken English and academic reporting skills.What You Can Expect:Warm welcome: We welcome new colleagues so they feel at home as soon as possible.
