Job Description

A Store Keeper with building materials isresponsible for managing the inventory and storage of construction-related materials, tools, and equipment.This involves receiving, inspecting, and storing deliveries, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring efficient material flow for construction projects.They also play a crucial role in inventory control, preventing shortages and delays.Key Responsibilities:Receiving and Inspecting Materials:Verifying deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips, checking for damage and discrepancies, and ensuring materials meet quality standards.Inventory Management:Maintaining accurate records of all materials received, stored, and issued, including quantities, locations, and usage.This may involve using inventory management software.Material Storage and Organization:Ensuring proper storage of materials, including organizing shelves, racks, and storage areas, and implementing labeling systems for easy identification.Issuing Materials:Fulfilling requests for materials from various site teams, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping.Maintaining Records:Preparing and maintaining accurate records of all material transactions, including receipts, issues, returns, and transfers.Inventory Control:Monitoring stock levels, identifying slow-moving or obsolete items, and coordinating with procurement for timely reordering.Safety and Security:Ensuring the safety of the storage area, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and implementing security measures to prevent theft or damage.Reporting:Preparing regular reports on material stock levels, usage, and any discrepancies.Coordination:Collaborating with project managers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely availability of materials.Disposing of Obsolete Materials:Following company procedures for disposing of damaged, expired, or obsolete materials.Essential Skills:Inventory Management.Organization and Attention to Detail.Communication Skills.Physical Stamina.Basic Computer Skills:Familiarity with inventory management software and basic computer operations.Knowledge of Building Materials:Understanding of different types of construction materials, their properties, and storage requirements.Problem-Solving:Ability to identify and resolve issues related to inventory, storage, or material discrepancies.#J-18808-Ljbffr
