Steelwork Package Manager

Role OverviewThe Steelwork Package Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, delivery, erection, and commercial performance of the structural and secondary steelwork packages on the project. The role ensures that steelwork is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with the contract requirements, design intent, and quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPackage & Project ManagementTake full responsibility for the steelwork package from pre-construction through fabrication, erection, and handoverDevelop and manage the steelwork scope & programCoordinate steelwork activities with other trades, designers, and site teamMonitor progress against program and implement mitigation measures where requiredDesign & Technical CoordinationManage the interface between steelwork contractors, structural engineers, and design teamsManage the review of steelwork design, shop drawings, connection design, and calculationsEnsure compliance with project specifications, relevant standards, and client requirementsResolve technical and constructability issues in collaboration with stakeholdersCommercial & Contract ManagementManage steelwork subcontractor contracts, including scope, variations, valuations, and final accountsControl costsAssess change events and support the preparation of commercial submissionsSite & Construction ManagementOversee site erection activities, logistics, lifting plans, and temporary works coordinationCoordinate Steel erection with lifting in position of specialized equipmentEnsure works are sequenced safely and efficientlyMonitor quality of fabrication and installation, including inspections and testingHealth, Safety, Quality & Environment (HSQE)Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all steelwork activitiesEnsure compliance with project H&S plans, method statements, and risk assessmentsManage quality assurance processes, NCRs, and snagging to successful completionStakeholder & ReportingAct as the main point of contact for all steelwork-related mattersChair and attend progress meetings with subcontractors and internal teamsProvide regular reports on progress, risks, costs, and opportunitiesSkills & ExperienceProven experience managing steelwork packages on large construction projects in the middle east, preferable Qatar.Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection processesExperience with subcontractor management and contract administrationExcellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skillsGood understanding of construction health & safety requirementsPersonal AttributesProactive and organized with strong attention to detailCommercially aware and solution-focusedAble to work under pressure and manage multiple prioritiesStrong leadership and stakeholder management skillsAre you Interested?#J-18808-Ljbffr
