Job Description

WSP is seeking an experienced Stakeholder Engineer to support the successful delivery of Power & Energy supervision projects. The role requires strong technical awareness combined with in‑depth knowledge of Abu Dhabi's stakeholder landscape, approval processes, and regulatory requirements.The Stakeholder Engineer will act as the key interface between WSP’s project teams and external authorities, developers, and utility providers to ensure timely stakeholder engagement, approvals, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement stakeholder management strategies for Abu Dhabi‑based projects in alignment with project objectives and client requirementsAct as the primary point of contact between WSP project teams and relevant Abu Dhabi authorities, utilities, and master developersManage stakeholder engagement across all project phases, including concept, design, approvals, construction, and handoverCoordinate and secure approvals, NOCs, permits, and technical clearances from relevant authoritiesLead stakeholder meetings, workshops, and technical coordination sessions, documenting actions and tracking resolutionsIdentify stakeholder risks, constraints, and dependencies, and proactively develop mitigation strategiesEnsure stakeholder requirements are clearly captured, communicated, and incorporated into design and delivery outputsMaintain stakeholder registers, approval trackers, and correspondence logsProvide regular reporting to project managers and senior leadership on stakeholder status, risks, and progressSupport claims avoidance by ensuring alignment with authority requirements and timely stakeholder sign‑offRepresent WSP professionally in all stakeholder interactions, reinforcing WSP’s reputation and valuesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical or Mechanical)Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with demonstrated exposure to Abu Dhabi based projectsProven experience managing stakeholder engagement and approval processes within Abu DhabiStrong understanding of local authority standards, guidelines, and submission proceduresExperience working within multidisciplinary consultancy or contractor environmentsExcellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneouslyProficiency in MS Office; experience with project management or tracking tools is an advantageFluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are also highly soughtImagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.Work on landmark projects around the world and embrace opportunities to make an even bigger impact in the communities you care about.
