Staff Physician, Ophthalmologist (Oculoplastic ) for Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi

JOB SUMMARYThis is a physician position responsible for applying medical knowledge and skills to diagnosis, prevention and treatment of illnesses for patients within the Integrated Surgical Institute – Ophthalmology specialty at CCAD. The role treats patients directly and/or makes referrals to other health‑care professionals at CCAD.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMonitors and provides care to patients at CCAD within the Integrated Surgical Institute – Ophthalmology specialtyPrescribes or administers medication, therapy and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injuryAnalyzes records, reports and test results to diagnose patient’s medical conditionInteracts with patient to gather additional history and information about medical conditionExplains procedures and discusses test results or prescribed treatments with patientProvides specific treatments and/or performs operations to treat patient medical conditionsEvaluates patient and records applicable notes about patient’s condition for purposes of serving as a record of treatment and/or making a possible referral to another member of the health‑care medical staff teamLiaisons with other medical and non‑medical staff at CCAD to ensure quality patient treatmentPerforms surgical procedures and operations as appropriateSupplies and provides care in a culturally appropriate and sensitive mannerFollows ethical and regulatory guidelinesTakes part in administrative functions that ensure the continued operations of the clinical environment, such as committees, task forces and performance improvement measuresAdheres to individual approved clinical privileges, as well as to all policies and procedures of the Medical StaffProvides supervision and training to residents and studentsEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSFor Physicians from Tier 1 countries: not less than two (2) years after obtaining main specialty qualification and one (1) year of experience after obtaining sub‑specialty qualification.For Physicians from Tier 2 countries: not less than five (5) years after obtaining main specialty qualification and four (4) years of experience after obtaining sub‑specialty qualification.Fellowship or subspecialty training focused on Oculoplastics/Orbit.Must hold a valid license/registration to practice in their home country and/or country of last employment (where applicable).ABOUT THE FACILITYCleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is located on Al Maryah Island, the heart of Abu Dhabi’s new central business district.
