Job Description Role Overview:
As a Staff Data Scientist at Truecaller, your main responsibility will be to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret Truecaller data to enhance the business unit's road map, business plan, and customer experience. Your proactive mindset in tackling novel business problems using advanced analytical techniques and tools will be crucial in extracting valuable insights from large and complex datasets. Collaboration with product, engineering, and platform teams will be essential in identifying metrics, evaluating A/B tests, understanding user behavior, and deriving product insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply cutting-edge machine learning algorithms and statistical models to uncover meaningful insights from large and complex datasets.
- Construct predictive models using historical data to forecast trends and anticipate future outcomes accurately.
- Collect, organize, analyze, and interpret data to work in a smarter way.
- Create visual interpretations of data through graphs and charts with insightful notes and summaries.
- Analyze user data to assist in finding innovative ways to present and utilize data for product development.
- Collaborate with other business units to identify and solve business problems using data-driven solutions.
- Support the management team in identifying, measuring, and following up on key metrics.
- Provide regular, accurate, and comprehensive statistical reports.
- Offer objective insight and analysis to influence decision-making.
- Ensure data quality by actively working on cleaning and maintaining data accuracy.
- Stay updated on external market and data research to enhance data analysis.
Qualifications Required:
- 10+ years of experience in Data Science OR relevant PhD + 1 year of industry experience.
- Data science background in digital advertising, marketing analytics, or ad-tech.
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms such as regression, classifications, clustering, probability networks, association rules, deep neural networks, and reinforcement learning.
- Extensive experience with analytical and quantitative problem-solving.
- Proficiency in tools like jupyter, open source or commercially available libraries.
- Programming skills in languages like Python and strong SQL knowledge.
- Hands-on experience with Python data science libraries including Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Matplotlib/Seaborn.
- Familiarity with ML lifecycle management tools like Kubeflow and MLflow is a strong plus.
- Experience in data modeling on Big Query, Hive/Spark/Hadoop/Kafka ecosystem.
- Knowledge of database modeling and data warehousing principles.
